Efficient Surveillance Deployment at Siraya Scenic Area - Guantian Visitor Center

Managing Vast Areas with Minimal Workforce

The Siraya Scenic Area, located in southern Taiwan, is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural history. Its diverse landscapes, hot springs, and abundant ecological resources draw many visitors to explore and experience the region. Spanning across Tainan and Chiayi, the scenic area features vast nature parks, lakes, waterfalls, and hot springs, offering visitors opportunities for hiking, soaking in hot springs, and visiting ancient cultural sites.

The Siraya Visitor Center, located in Guantian, Tainan, serves as the hub for managing the scenic area. The center itself boasts expansive lawns and recreational areas, accommodating both large and small vehicles, making it a convenient spot for visitors to stroll and relax.

Due to the park’s vastness and the emphasis on minimizing human interference in its operations, deploying a large patrol workforce is not ideal. To address this, the park introduced the Lilin Intelligent Surveillance System to handle critical security duties.

A significant number of Lilin’s waterproof and vandal-proof outdoor bullet cameras, along with high-speed domes capable of tracking, have been installed around the visitor center, covering parking lots, pathways, and building exteriors. All video footage is transmitted to Lilin’s Central Management System (CMS), which displays multiple camera feeds on a video wall, allowing the control center to monitor all activities effortlessly.
Event classification and archiving of footage are managed by LILIN’s Video Management System (VMS). For instance, if someone enters a restricted area, the intelligent cameras immediately trigger an alert to the backend system and generate a video index in the VMS. This allows security personnel to quickly locate footage by searching through visual tags or event categories, significantly improving efficiency.
"When animals enter the area, we can issue alerts based on the situation," said Lilin's Chief Information Officer, Mr. Hu Chih-Kang. "Our system can detect people, animals, and other objects, depending on the park's management rules, allowing for a variety of event combinations."

In addition to powerful software capabilities, Lilin’s intelligent cameras excel in hardware performance, particularly with night vision. This enables 24/7 security, ensuring a safe and relaxing environment for park visitors.
